If you’re an HVAC/R service technician, you’ve been trained to service and repair the equipment. But no one – until now – has taught you exactly how to maximize your income. This invaluable handbook belongs in the toolkit of all HVAC/R service technicians who want to increase their incomes and their professional levels, too.

"I wrote this book," the authors says, "because I keep hearing and reading about the low pay in the HVAC/R industry, and because I know that service technicians can increase their income by incorporating a few simple techniques to their daily duties to increase their value to their company."

5reviewing the tech  Jul 10, 2010 By Whit Perry
I teach at a local community college and always try and stay abreast of the materials out there that may help our students. I came across this book via RSES a few weeks ago.

I honestly believe this should be a must read for an HVACR technician who wants to be the professional. There are a lot of jake legs out there and a technician has a choice whether they want to be mediocre or professional. This book can help steer them in the right direction.

I believe the first and foremost goal of the technician is to be an honest, hard working, continuous learning, professional, employee. The pay will follow most of the times. I agree pretty much with Chris's material but not 100%.

I rated it a 5 star because I believe Chris is on the right track. It is an easy read, short, and to the point. It is good to have someone writing about professionalism concerning our industry. Our industry gets a bad rap but we deserve a lot of it. We should not be allowing this to happen and demand professionalism in our industry. But it begins with us, as educators and employers, making sure the people we train and hire know we will accept nothing less.

I tried several times to call Chris and thank him for the book but the phone continues to ring and doesn't have an answering machine tied with it. If you read this review then, Well done Chris!
