4Good book for students and general reference, but...  Feb 08, 2008 By I. Marin "AndresC"
I studied with this book in my years at the university. I was looking for a good reference book and I decided to buy this one. But when i went thru the chapters, I realized that all the topics are very student-oriented (as it's saying in the book's preface). I'm still looking for good advanced analysis and design book.
If you are an engineer, starting in the steel analysis and design, this is the book for you.
If your are an engineer looking for in-deep and advanced reference and explanations...look for another.

5comprehensive book on steel construction  Nov 16, 2008 By H. Sezer Atamturktur
It has clear cohesive text but it can use a bit more examples. It is comprehensive and I did not see any errors. Overall great book, i benefited so much from it.

5Good Book  Aug 02, 2008 By Nada F. Al Fahad "M.Sc. (Civil)"
I used the third edition of this book (LRFD) in my undergraduate and I used this edition for my graduate class. It is a great help for me as I am not a steel expert. I like it's simple form and the use of both LRFD and ASD in all examples.

5THE MUST HAVE STEEL DESIGN BOOK.  Feb 18, 2010 By M. Malek
I had the previous version of the book on ASD and loved it during my under-grad. The author has done a magnificent job in combining the ASD and LRFD in the new edition. It is by far my most favorite steel design book and I cannot live without having it in my desk. Examples are clear, it touches all the main topics most importantly it is well organized and easy to follow. The book is worth every penny! Thank you Mccormac!

4Good Structural Text  May 11, 2012 By William C. Etter "Christ Follower"
This is a good undergraduate text on Steel Design. Although, I am an a senior Structural engineer that graduated many years ago, I like to get texts that explain the nuances of changes in the AISC code. When I left college, all design was allowable stress design. The AISC spec keeps evolving so that now we no longer have allowable stress design, but allowable strength design and Load Reduction Factor Design. It is very elementary text book, but a good refresher for me.
