Roofing For Pros by Pros Jan 28, 2010
By David I have ordered several books in the For Pros by Pros series. This book is just like the others in this series. It is informative, detailed and good reading. Even if you care not to apply this information as a DIY'er you will be well informed if you plan to hire a roofing company to repair or replace roofing. I had my roofing replaced eight years ago and I wish I had read this book then. This book would have given me the knowledge to correctly select materials, emphasize specific procedures, oversee the work knowledgeably and to finally inspect the completed work. This is great information to have for a few dollars when considering a $5000-$8000 roofing job.

Full of Helpful Ideas Jun 18, 2009
By Dave Although this book is a collection of articles taken from Fine Homebuilding magazine, there is much to learn from. Covers nearly every type of roofing material including 3-tab, architectural, metal, slate, aluminum, and more. Also covers every aspect from tear-off to underlayment and flashing. Very helpful and useful.

Good book, good service. Apr 27, 2009

"Life long learner"
Thanks, this was the right book at the right time. As I type, the roof is done and should hold the water outside. Was a great reference to help me remember what a decade had helped me forget.
Not what I was hoping for. Sep 04, 2011
By M. Marrs I was a little disapointed with the quality of this book. It is more a book of opinions than a book of current facts and directions on how to do it right. I have been in the business for over 20 years and found several problems with what it says. It sounds like it was the work of only one person instead of a group of professionals.

Good Info For A DIYer Aug 12, 2011
By Duff Focusing mainly on carpentry lately, I wanted to "brush up" on my flashing techniques. Taunton's books are very informative and well written. However, I discovered with this book, that I didn't really learn anything. I would say that for a DIYer it is a great resource and would highly recommend it, but for me there was nothing new. It will, however, remain a useful book to have in my collection for reference or as a tutorial for new employees.
