5An excellent starter/idea book  Aug 11, 2007 By J. Likeness
Okay, this is not a book of plans and layouts--there are several--but, that's not the primary purpose of a book like this. IDEAS that's what you got here.

Transposing one of these designs wholesale into your backyard would be fine IF you have the space, the matching terrain and the $s and, if the design matches and fits the style, scale and complements the features of your house. The writers admonish the reader to sit down and seriuosly think about how they use their kitchen and how they plan to use their outdoor one--that bit of advice alone is well worth the price of the book.

As to the do-it-yourself aspects of the book they are well thought out, well laid out and clearly illustrated--and they are repleat with warnings and "bail-outs"

All around outstanding

2A little lacking  Nov 21, 2011 By dodgeballs
I bought this book while in the brainstorming phase of my outdoor kitchen. Incidentally it's STILL in that phase, and this book did not advance my cause at all. It had good reviews and I was hoping it would have good ideas and planning tools. Instead, it seems to focus on only a handful of actual kitchens, and doesn't really cover much ground. It does not have any recommendations on building YOUR kitchen as far as usage of space, appliance placement, etc. There is ZERO cost information as well, so if you are hoping for help shaping your kitchen budget, this also is not the tool. It has some moderately useful technical information, but not nearly enough to let you build anything unless you already knew how, in which case...you wouldn't need the book. Basically, it's got some nice pictures of some pretty sweet kitchens that might give you an idea here and there; that's about it.

5Very pleased with this purchase  Dec 14, 2010 By Ms. E. Marie
The patterns in this book are beautiful. The instruction given provides a wide base for other applications and can easily be conformed to your own uses. The illustrations are excellet quality and not the coloring book quality of some.A very easy guide to read and follow. I would highly recommend this product to any beginning builder.

5Excellent Information  Sep 27, 2010 By Landscapefactory
This book contains a great deal of information. It touches on nearly every aspect of designing, building, and using an outdoor kitchen. The information should be very helpfull, even if you are contracting the construction of the kitchen.
