Thoroughly updated to the 2003 Edition of NFPA Standard 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications, it teaches readers to efficiently, effectively, and safely operate and maintain fire pumps. Topics are logically organized, beginning with an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the driver and operator, then stepping through the construction of pumps and operational procedures and progressing to the theory and principles behind water flow. Important water flow calculations are illustrated, followed by expanded information on automatic nozzles, standpipe operations, hydrant flows, and other topics that promote the safe and efficient operation of pumps.

1Unedited overpriced rough draft  May 08, 2010 By Donald McCullough
I don't understand how this "work in progress" ever made it to a second edition. It has never been proofed or else the editing staff is undereducated and overpaid. It is filled with errors, duplications, inconsistent measurements, incomplete definitions, incorrect formulas, misplaced decimal points in formulas and in text, misspellings, contradictory info etc. I read this "collection of pages" 4 times for a promotional exam. It took that many readings to understand and discern incorrect information from correct information. I have never read a book more poorly edited than this one.

1NEVER RECEIVED WHAT I PAID FOR  Sep 25, 2009 By V. Lombard
NEVER RECIEVED THE BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have tried to contact seller to no avail. Contact Amazon and get some big run around about why they just can't instantly refund my money. Was a real bind without the book. I will NEVER buy another thing from Amazon again.
