5A Must-Have for Mechanical Design  Mar 26, 2009 By John Haymond
Are you collecting all of the most crucial mechanical design information and putting it in a three-ring binder? If so, throw it away and get this book! It has absolutely the most comprehensive collection of mechanical design information availible. Along with the ASHRAE handbooks, this is all you need for reference material.

4Great info - Lacking an index  Apr 20, 2010 By Ryan S.
This book is a great top-line summary of all four ASHRAE books, approximate ventilation standards, and I am constantly using the first few pages of equations and conversions. The rules of thumb are well thought out and the design standards are excellent thought provokers for design - a great book for an HVAC specialist - or in my case, someone preparing for the Mechanical PE Exam, HVAC focus (again - the equation section was extremely helpful!)

My biggest complaint about this book is that it lacks a solid index. If you are looking for a topic, you must flip through the table of contents and hopefully find what you want - that's the primary reason I can't give it a higher rating! This book won't displace your ASHRAE books...you'll still need them for sure, but it can certainly be a great supplement and "quick" reference book for sure!

5HVAC Handbook  Jun 27, 2011 By Larry Martino
Excellent handbook for an engineer. I recommend you have this on your desk for quick reference, even the rules of thumb are good for sanity checks after more thorough calculations have been made.

4Good Info  Aug 03, 2010 By Ken Thorpe
It does not go into a lot of detail, but for a quick reference to the "rules of thumb" it is good to have on the shelf.

3HVAC book  Apr 17, 2010 By Alberto Rodriguez
book is well written, lots of useful information. only issue was a few pages were glued together, making those particular pages unreadable.
