Design Ideas for Kitchens presents a range of ideas for creating an attractive, up-to-date kitchen. Homeowners will find many excellent examples of kitchens of all sizes and shapes, including the traditional U-, L-, G-shape, one-wall, and galley configurations. It discusses the re-thinking of the classic work triangle, and illustrates the new way kitchens are planned around zones. Ever-popular kitchen islands and peninsulas are amply represented, along with the latest cabinetry and storage options. The book also contains a complete reference for sinks and faucets, and a multitude of ideas for flooring and countertop treatments, including granite, tile, solid-surfacing material, and more. What's more, an entire chapter is devoted to kitchen appliances and offers a look at the most recent technology in food preparation and storage. Additional helpful information explains how to make design decisions and product choices based on lifestyle needs.

5This is a must-have book fit for every kitchen!  Jun 25, 2007 By Spicoli
The kitchens in this book are something to be jealous of. Not only are there beautiful ideas offered in this book, but practical tips are also included to make for a more functional kitchen that's not just aesthetically pleasing. Great ideas on cabinetry are supplied, along with information on surfaces, countertops, and lighting. Also, interesting ideas to include a washer and dryer. A lot of great information comes in one book. Before you go ahead and plan out how you're going to do your new kitchen, pick up this book. You'll be glad you did.

5Excellent Resource  Jan 27, 2007 By Once Redeemed
Packed with large, full-color pictures and all the information you could need for a kitchen remodel. Covers everything from lighting to hardware. Very up-to-date and helpful. Price paid was a real bargain.

5Really helpful!  Mar 10, 2008 By Scotch Tape
This book was and is VERY helpful in the still ongoing design of my new kitchen. Each section made sense and progressed to the next logical area of decision making. It has clear, large photographs and illustrations. It's a very helpful book. In fact, I'm ordering another copy so my designer and I can refer to some of the subjects and pages over the phone.

4Nice Book When Planning Kitchens  Jun 20, 2011 By GarrettM "GarrettM"
This is a good book to consult when planning a kitchen. Some of the photos are now a bit dated, but there are timeless suggestions and the book is a very good value.

2Not so great.  Apr 08, 2010 By J. Gerstorff "Jason G"
I was hoping for lots of picture and different ideas. This book is pretty lame, and not any modern or contemporary design ideas. I'd stick to the internet or magazines.
