This practical manual has all the information you need to select and pour the right mix for the job, lay out the structure, choose the right form materials, design and build the forms, and finish and cure the concrete.

Find what type of mix is best for the job, what admixtures are needed, how deep the footing should be, the best way to lay out forms, how much concrete you'll need, how much reinforcing you'll need -- the answers are all here.

Nearly 100 pages of step-by-step instructions show how to construct and erect most types of site-fabricated wood forms used in residential construction.

4Fantastic for the price!  Mar 03, 2004
When I first bought this book I wondered if it would be out-of-date. It wasn't. Although there were many tricks I've learned that weren't in the book, I did catch many new formwork techniques from this book. I'd recommend it to anyone learning to set forms on a residential or light commercial construction site.

1an out-of date curiosity  Oct 30, 2009 By O. Klepper
Perhaps if an elderly colleague got his pension this would be a nice gift, but for a person working with concrete in present times it is barely useful. Outdated and not very practical. If you want a really hands-on, enthusiastically written and useful book, try "working with concrete" by Richard Arnold.
